Brilliant stuff, so glad I found you (and thanks to Substack too). I believe that your world of youth must be safeguarded, with help from those of us who have blundered in the past. I will always promote your cause. Peace, Maurice
My pleasure friend, it's half what I write about too, with the proceeds intended to support a research centre for sustainable gardening in the face of climate change. Gonna search for a site in France next year, and will be posting about that journey. Peace, Maurice
It’s time to stop the climate activist and alarmist nonsense and revisit the climate science.
We need to stop misleading the general public by spreading unsubstantiated scare campaigns that we have a climate emergency when all the scientific facts show that the climate change is mainly beneficial.
Also, we must leave the energy providers alone to get on with providing low-cost reliable energy to power our national prosperity.
Of course…. pollution on land sea and air is always an improvement journey to continue.
But, get used to the facts ……the climate is changing, and its natural, and its mainly good news, and its not us!
I suggest you review this package of information……
Its now clear we are at critical mass of scientific dispute that we have any kind of climate emergency.
We have now released a documentary that is getting viewed by our political organizations.
In my recent Brainsmagazine article I mention 3 powerful scientific alternatives to the IPCC that has now shown itself to be more political than scientific.
I think the jig is up for the IPCC…. And the activists, who should redirect the focus to sustainability and pollution reduction, but not climate change.
The future effort must be to provide an alternative position to the Climate emergency Net Zero rhetoric and move the population toward Climate Science and Realism.
Reversing Climate Alarmism - by Nigel Southway (substack.com)
Although effort must be expended to provide the scientific facts to reset the understanding of “Climate Reality” any meaningful change and progress will probably take significant political change and unwavering leadership and bravery by those of us that strive to seek the truth to push through the Climate alarmist cult and move everyone toward “Climate Realism.”
Nigel, I absolute disagree with almost everything in this comment. For me, to move from Climate Doomism to Climate Realism is to accept the fact from a grounded and empowered place which has nothing to do with ignoring the climate science and everything to do with being in a spiritual and mental place that is strong enough to TAKE ACTION upon such facts. Try telling those who are losing their homes to either wildfires, flooding, drought, hunger, war, or other climate-fueled disasters that climate change isn't real. Your mission to take back manufacturing isn't necessarily a bad thing but it shouldn't be paired with trying to slaughter the climate science. Please stop spreading your dangerous point of views!
Pleased don’t think of me as a bigoted denialist troll that is not my purpose or personality.
As an advocate for manufacturing and business and being an engineer, I am used to dealing with facts and risks… I have connected with many experts on climate and now see that the NetZero climate actions and western prosperity that will require a recovery of our industries are highly incompatible.
Then on reviewing the facts on climate I see a very low risk to our futures especially if we focus on adaption and not mitigation. For example, the fires you mention are not about climate change and more to do with forest management, and I have facts on this if you would like to review.
My ongoing concern is that I see a large part of the population now hard wired to be climate activists based on the fear that has been mass communicated.
My purpose is to brief those like you in the front lines that the enemy is changing from fear about climate change to our approach to it, and if we continue we will cause significant self harm.
All I ask is that people study the alternative scientific facts, and we have a more open debate on the NetZero journey as the science is far from settled.
I mention all this in the material I sent, and my biggest concern is that our thought leaders (like yourself) have become blinded to such open discussion… I hope you are different...
Thank you for clarifying that -- climate denialism can be hard to spot these days. And I agree with you that the climate conversation has become too single-lined and simplified in many ways and of course, as we know, it's so much more complex than that.
My question though is where you stand in the pure fact that as the globe gets warmer, weather patterns change and continue to intensify storms, heatwaves, etc. "Climate weirding" as it's also referred to. Of course we must accept this is happening and will continue to happen, to your point about adaptation, but don't you think that regardless how we communicate the climate crisis, we still need to stop warming up our globe and focus on bringing down the ppm in the atmosphere? In fact (from what I've learned) nothing past 350 ppm (or even lower) has ever sustained life for very long.
First …. I don’t see any scientists in denial and disagreeing that the climate is changing, but many are declaring it NOT an emergency, in fact some are saying that in some ways where we are heading is good news.
Its all about who are you going believe…
Historically the UN-IPCC has driven the scientific status but that is now changing as the UN has used models that had predicted events that have not happened and their credibility and their models is now low. Many scientists who disagree with these models have recently formed into powerful coalitions with scientific skills and credibility that rival the IPCCs.
Here is one group with senior scientists involved. It’s a large international level of involvement.
Of course …we see much political interference in the scientific process with scientific sources being bashed on all sides… but many scientists are now speaking out above the noise.
So, the hope is that in the near future we will enjoy a much more professional review of the climate science and the true facts from all sides of the debate...
I would only go firm on a policy position such as NetZero after I have seen such a broad scientific review and that is what we have been advising our politicos to wait for.
My article in the magazine brainz summarize the current situation and I am hoping you will read that.
All the predictions I have seen for planet warming are well within reasonable limits and are not unprecedented ….. In general a warmer planet has happened before (Roman and hi medieval periods) and we flourished with about 3 degrees warmer temperatures than now and most of the weather will be less sever… and this is the trend outlook… forest fires are a special case and although its got better we need to get back to forest management that we had prior 1980… the fires in Hawaii were due to grasses that were not managed. More people die from cold than heat and we will need some adaption but its far less difficult than mitigation of CO2/Fossil fuels.. We will not being moving away from fossil fuels any time soon.. although making them cleaner say from coal to natural gas is a good journey.
CO2 is far less a problem than some declare and we will be very happy with 3 times current levels and it will saturate out and have no further impact on our climate system. So its not a problem… but even if it was ......we are not going to change the planet warming as it has little to do with CO2 and more to do with natural cycles due to positions of the earth and the solar system..
The other point is that we do not have any technologies to replace fossil fuels even if we wanted to do that.. forget renewables. just ask Germany.. nuclear is a good move…. but it takes time..
Footnote…. CO2 and global warming is not a problem….It is actually greening the planet and improving our food supply but pollution on land sea and air IS and that should be our focus.
I do have open questions on sea pollution and the impact of CO2 on acidification but even that has been disputed as a problem but I agree it but needs further review.
Any way all this is in the Brainz article… suggest you read

What sweet words Maurice, thank you so much and thank you for being a champion of this important work!

That's so wonderful!! I wish you all the best of luck on that search!
Wonderful interview, Anne! Just listened!
Thank you Matthew!! So glad you enjoyed it!

It addresses the truth about climate causation and so-called climate catastrophes.
The Intent is to reverse the foolish NetZero journey .
We at Clintel have released a peer reviewed declaration by almost 2000 scientists that states that we do not have a climate emergency.

We now have many scientists ready to argue with the IPCC reports….
Here is a presentation of a letter they have sent to IPCC.

So far based on the facts I have seen I have developed the following view of the outcome....
Its now clear we are at critical mass of scientific dispute that we have any kind of climate emergency.
we must leave the energy providers alone to get on with providing low-cost reliable energy to power our national prosperity or the lights will go out!
We have no statistical weather issues that are due to climate change… and some are getting better.
This recent documentary may help explain. They have a lot of good data (I have reviewed it) to support what they say..
