You can WIN a copy of The Climate Optimist Handbook
+ breakthrough climate optimism news!
Did you know that breastfeeding is a full-time job? I learned recently that a breastfeeding mama spends about 1800 hours a year feeding her baby, which I’ll take as proof as to why I feel like I get NOTHING done these days, or why the days (and nights) tend to somehow slip through my fingers.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s magical to be so caught up in a bubble with her, but man is it hard to stay up-to-date with things! I’m sharing this because I think I need to go down to one newsletter every other week for a while. I hope that’s OK :)
With that said, I’ll only have one thing to share this week: YOU CAN WIN A BOOK!
In partnership with Isaias Hernandez, aka @QueerBrownVegan, I’m hosting a giveaway where you can win a copy of The Climate Optimist Handbook. All you have to do is head over to this post, tag one friend, and share why this book would benefit you!
The giveaway ends this Friday (12/16/22) at 11:59 PM EST — don’t miss out!
Don’t want to wait? Get your copy online today! Check out my website for options of where to find it or do a quick Google search of “The Climate Optimist Handbook” to see what options are available where you live!

“I've just started reading this book, and I was thrilled to see this positive message explored, and with so much depth, thought, and heart. AT covers so many dimensions of what a positive outlook means personally, and for the movement. Climate and environmental work is usually about science and engineering. But the quest to improve things is deeply human. I loved reading the emotional exploration of what this means and it lifts me up with each chapter I read. Such an important message for our generation.”

A successful book signing event in NYC
Last Saturday I hosted a book signing event at the MOG Pop-Up in NYC. The turnout was better than I expected and it was great fun sharing about the book and chatting with people while they got their copies. Big dream come true — thank you to everyone who showed up!
Climate… Hope?
Have we finally reached the magical threshold into a world of limitless, clean nuclear power? Well we’re not there quite yet where we can power the world, BUT we have definitely reached a breakthrough!
“Researchers have reportedly made a breakthrough in the quest to unlock a “near-limitless, safe, clean” source of energy.”

That is it from this mama for now — I’ll see you back here soon with a final issue of 2022 and some updates for what to expect in 2023 :)
Lots of love (and, always, optimism) from New York!
