Ok, the Universe has given me waaay too many signs lately so I’m finally listening. I need to take a break!
It’s been so hard to come to terms with because I have new readers subscribe here every week and it’s so empowering to see how the interest in climate optimism is growing.
However, it’s time. My long-term readers know that we’ve been dealing with some difficult times lately, with my husband being injured and my baby going through all the glorious phases of teething and sleep regressions. Well, get this — this weekend our next-door neighbor’s apartment was burned to the ground and we were forced to evacuate.
Luckily we were out for dinner when it happened and I thank our guardian angels for that, but I’m sad to say that our neighbor (an older lady) didn’t survive the fire. (Please, people, check your smoke detectors!)
And as you probably know, fires show no mercy, and neither do firefighters (man do they know how to trash an apartment,) so we’ve had to relocate while our place is being brought back up to par.
Needless to say, we’ve been sidetracked again. Being forced out of our home made me reflect on a lot of things and I shared about it in this LinkedIn post, but I can sum it up this way:
I’m tired.
My body needs a break and so do I. So no matter how much I frigging adore this hub of optimists and no matter how much I love writing these newsletters, I’m taking an official break. (Please, you guys, hold me accountable this time!!)
But don’t fret — I will be back once I’ve regained some footing, maybe stronger and more inspired than I’ve been in a while! And in the meantime, here are some climate optimist resources to hold you over:
