What is the future version of yourself that wants to emerge?
2024 brings new intentions
Dear Friend, Happy 2024!
To try something new this year, I will share weekly tidbits of inspiration that have come to me lately — either from deeper contemplation or something brought to my attention in the outside world. Once a month there will be a bigger, deeper, and more explorative issue to help you on your climate optimist quest.
As always, I love seeing engagement in either a like, a comment, or both. These engagements help the visibility of this newsletter and hence, for us all to reach more awakening climate optimists around the world!
This week I’d love to hear — what intentions are you setting for this new year? And before you answer that question, do you dare to go a little deeper? A little… wider? More whimsical? More expansive?
Ask yourself:
“What is the future version of myself that wants to emerge? What is the future world that wants to emerge?”

3 pivotal moments on my journey to motherhood 🤎
As the previous year came to an end I reflected a lot on how I came to motherhood and the important moments that brought me here. And as I dug deeper I came to realize that a few significant turning points led me to the intentional decision of becoming a mom.
I’ve decided to share them here to bring you a vision of where I’m currently at as a full-time mom and full-time visionary and entrepreneur. It might also shed some inspiration for anyone who is currently navigating parenthood, or maybe hoping to be there soon.
What’s more, I also think these insights I’ve collected truly serve us in our work for climate justice too.
So, here are my three pivotal moments on my journey to motherhood:
1. One morning, on the bus on my way to high school, I looked out the window and saw people walking into their offices. In a flash I was transported into the future and given an image of what life could look like once I had a career, and I knew in that second I wanted to create something of my own. So that the day I became a mom, I didn’t have to choose between my kids or my career. I wanted to create a reality where I could choose my hours, and in doing so, choose my life — and theirs.
2. A few years back I had the honor of attending a panel with @marahoffman and some other badass entrepreneur mothers. They instilled in me the belief that you CAN be a mom AND continue pursuing your career. They showed me what a different kind of motherhood can look like, one that is just as good, only different, and I took that to heart!
3. One morning in LA a few years back I had brunch with the amazing @mamatashanda and she relayed to me the truth that to be a good mom is also to trust in and accept the help from others. That, in fact, it’s in tapping into your community for help and support - especially if you have important work to tend to - you give your kids the upbringing they deserve.
These pivotal moments brought me into motherhood and made me enter it with an intentional vision of what kind of mother I want to be, and the kind of life I want to lead. So as I’m entering 2024, I do so with these ever-more important intentions:
🌿 Set clear boundaries so that I can choose what is important - for my work and our family
🌿 A reminder that I create my realities with the stories I tell myself every day. I want a lot more “yes I can” instead of “but I can’t…”
🌿 To never be afraid of asking for help and knowing that by doing so, I create a better reality for everyone involved
So, again, what intentions are you setting for 2024?
